Omar Hammami, an American born jihadist fighting for an Al Qaeda affiliate in Somalia (al-Shabaab), had been allegedly killed in 2013 by his own terror group after he publicly renounced his membership with them.

He grew up in Daphne, Alabama, the son of a Baptist school teacher and a Syrian father, with what he called a privileged childhood. By age 22; however, he hated the U.S. He wrote a long autobiography online, was active on Twitter and had produced several videos-rhyming about waging war on the West and the glory of Martyrdom.
